The BHS SADD February Student of the Month is freshman Tricia Hokanson. Tricia’s favorite color is blue and she likes to eat all kinds of seafood. P.E. is her favorite subject and when asked if she could teach a class which one it would be, Tricia replied, “…P.E. so I can play games all day!” Tricia is involved in several activities at BHS including SADD, Stuco, Volleyball, Basketball, and Track. In her free time she likes to play sports, or watch her favorite television shows: Friends and Switched At Birth. If she had to pick a book to read, Tricia would select Battle of the Olympian. . . .
The Bucklin Lady Deuces competed in the SPIAA League Basketball tournament hosted by Bucklin, February 1st, 4th, & 6th. The Lady Deuces had the #1 seed at 6-0 thus earning a bye the first round. In the semi final round they squared off against the Ashland Bluejays. When the final buzzer sounded the Bucklin team was headed to the championship game for the 4th consecutive year. Final Score: Bucklin 36 Ashland 17 The Championship game featured the Lady Deuces against the Ingalls Bulldogs. . . .
USD 459 Bucklin Schools is proud to honor Sue Kirk with this lifetime pass to SPIAA events. Sue grew up in Kingsdown and began attending Bucklin Schools in the 7th grade.
