High School (9-12): SADD
BUCKLIN HIGH SCHOOL SADD MEMBERS DEMONSTRATE THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS
December 17, 2009
The Bucklin High School SADD (Students Against Destructive
Decisions) chapter sponsored an Angel Tree project to help needy
children
between the ages of 3 and 12 in the USD 459 school district.
Each member that chose to participate selected an angel tree
tag
that was marked only by age or grade level and gender. Students
then bought
a gift for their “angel” and brought it to school by December 14th.
Several
members chose two angels and some faculty members also brought
gifts
Once the gifts were all wrapped and tagged, SADD members helped
load the
packages so they could be given to the Ministerial Alliance for
distribution to the children. SADD members and faculty donated over
60
gifts to the project.
SADD participated in the project as a way to help students
understand the real meaning of Christmas. “It was great to give
back,
everyone now feels like Santa,” commented SADD President Megan
H.
