The Bucklin Red Deuces scoring machine came to a screeching halt
Thursday night at Fowler. The Goldbugs ran away with a 49-0 victory, ending
the game in the 3rd quarter. Fowler led 29-0 after the first quarter. The
Deuces mounted a scoring drive in the second quarter. The Deuces made it to
the 7 yard line, but Fowler intercepted a pass as time expired in the half
to lead 43-0. The game was called by the 45 point rule with 2:22 remaining
in the third quarter. The Red Deuces record dropped to 3 wins against 2
losses. The Fowler Goldbugs are far and away the best team the Deuces have
faced this year. Fowler should finish the season with an unblemished record
as they have Ashland and Spearville to close out the season.
The Red Deuces had 119 yards of rushing and JaQuan M. completed 3
of 6 passes for 48 yards. Anthony J. caught a pass for 40 yards, Trey
D. for 6 yards, and Colton D.  2 yards. Josh M.  had a great game
at center for the Red Deuces, with no bad snaps! JaQuan led the tackle
chart with 3 unassisted and 3 assist, Anthony J. 2-2, Trey 1-2, Colton 1-1,
Lakin P. 1-1, and Tanner D. had 1 assisted tackle. Tanner C.,
Jac C., Colin S., and Shay S. rounded out the Deuces who saw
action against the Goldbugs.
The Deuces close out the season on the road with two away games. Next
week at Ingalls and then October 15th at Greensburg vs Kiowa County.
Congratulations to the Deuces volleyball team for securing the #1 seed for
the league tournament! Game times for next week at Ingalls are 4:00 Varsity
girls volleyball, 5:00 JV girls volleyball, and 6:00 for the Red Deuces
football team.
