BHS SADD GROUP BEGINS NEW SCHOOL YEAR

The Bucklin High School Students Against Destructive Decisions
(SADD) group
held their first organization meeting of the year on August 25,
2009. Mrs.
Bev Birney sponsors the SADD group.
Leading SADD this year will be a group of officers who were
elected
last spring. Serving as President is Megan H., Vice President,
Tanner
B., Secretary-Treasurer, Sammy K., and Stuco Representatives,
Abbi
P.
The SADD organization is open to all students at BHS. To
become
a member, each student and his/her parents must sign a contract for
life
that states he/she will not smoke, drink, use drugs, or do any
other
behavior that would be destructive. The SADD group has adopted the
motto;
Stand Up For What Is Right, Even If You Are Standing Alone.
Currently 37
students are members.
The group is in the processing of organizing a couple of
projects. They will be hosting a tailgate party at the first home
football
game on September 11th vs. Minneola from 5:30 to 7:00. The menu
will
consists of hamburgers/hotdogs, macaron salad, chips, cookies, and
tea.
The other project involves honoring three students each month.
The September Students of the Month have been chosen. They are
kindergartener Rileigh H., 8th grader Mariah C., and senior

W.
