Kansas Scholars Recognized

by Tim Dusin

October 13, 2008

The University of Kansas and the University of Kansas Alumni Association held the Kansas Honors Program at Dodge City Community College on October 8. The purpose of the Kansas Scholars program is to recognize the top 10% of students from each school throughout the state of Kansas. Bucklin students Kasey C., daughter of Carla C. and Kelvin C., and Emily S., daughter of Pam S. and Alan S. were recognized.

After a catered dinner at the Dodge City Community College banquet hall, David Johnston made remarks about taking advantage of a person’s opportunities and congratulated the students on their hard work. Each student was recognized and given a dictionary by the University of Kansas. Entertainment for the evening was a series of songs performed by pianist Connie Mak. Chris Ballard made closing remarks and the evening activities came to an end.

Congratulations to Kasey and Emily for all their hard work and being a part of the Kansas Honors Program.
