Deuces Football vs Greensburg

The Bucklin Red Deuces lost a hard fought game against the
Junior
Rangers from Greensburg. Both teams came into the game with a 1-3
record.
Greensburg was coached by former Bucklin teacher and coach, Travis
Powell.
The Rangers took the opening kickoff 40 yards for a touchdown,
tacked on
the extra point to lead 8-0 with just 59 seconds ticked off the
clock. On
the ensuing kickoff Brian received the kickoff on his 15 yard
line,
cut back about the 40, and put the Deuces within two points. The
extra point
failed the the Deuces trailed 6-8 with 6:48 remaining in the first
quarter.
The Rangers scored another touchdown with 4:04 to go in the
first
quarter, their extra point failed. The Deuces trailed 6-14. On
their next
possession the Deuces were unable to move the ball, the Deuces had
to punt.
The punt was block, the Rangers scored a touchdown and extra point
with 2:22
left in the first quarter to take 22-6 lead.
The Rangers scored again in the second quarter when Greensburg took
the
ball away from the Deuces and ran the ball in for another
touchdown,PAT
failed and the lead was extended to 28-6. The Deuces were able to
score the
next two touchdowns. JaQuan ran the ball in for a touchdown
to cut
the lead 28-12. Once again the PAT fail. Brian scored the next
touchdown for the Deuces with 3:23 to go in the half. PAT failed
again and
the Deuces trailed by 28-18.
The Rangers weren't done scoring, with 52.2 second to go in the
half,
the Rangers scored on a pass play, were successful on the PAT, and
took a
36-18 going into halftime.
The Red Deuces scored in the third quarter on a 33 yard pass
play.
Trevon hooked up with JaQuan to make the score 36-14,
Rangers. After a fumble recovery by Trey, Brian scored on a 1
yard plunge to pull the Deuces within 6 points 36-30. Both PAT's of
the
third quarter were unsuccessful. The Rangers scored another
touchdown and
PAT with 4:01 to go in the game to go up 44-30, which was the final
score of
the game.
The Deuces will travel to Rozel next Thursday to take on the
Pawnee
Heights Junior High, game time will be 6:30. The game was
originally
scheduled to be played at Hanston. Both the volleyball and football
games
will be played at Pawnee Hts. High School. Pawnee Heights lost
their first
game of the season to Haviland. They have won 4 in a row to stand
at 4-1.
